Roosimine - Aleks Byrd
Description
Roosimine is an Estonian inlay technique that creates the appearance of embroidery with intentional floats in contrasting yarn on the right side of your knitting. It’s the perfect technique to add some embellishment to your knitting that is easier than intarsia. Knitters will learn the basics making a Roosimine swatch.
Tutor: Aleks Byrd
Ability: Students should be comfortable knitting in the round.
Materials Needed: 3.75mm / US5 needles for knitting a small circumference; either double pointed needles or 60cm/ 24” circular needle for magic loop method
stitch markers
3 colours of DK weight yarn in contrasting colours, approx. 20g of each colour
